2009 Northern Woods Competition - Best Traditional Piece Award Winner"
Made from curly and crotch cherry, this corner cupboard combines the finest design features from several early American examples into a single case piece. The base has a double door with cherry crotch, tombstone panels and a unique mid-molding profile which seamlessly separates the two pieces. The upper case has several notable features including cathedral, divided light doors fashioned after an example in the Winterthur Museum and fitted with antique wavy glass. To the left and right are fluted columns and above a keystone. Crowning the cabinet is an elegant, valence-style, molding structure. All curved panels and moldings have been hand-carved.
